Learn moreOn June 18, 2021, the BAKC collection was announced. They were available to claim within a limited time window for anyone who owned a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT. Around 9,600 were claimed, meaning around 400 dogs are gone forever and will never be minted.
BAKC acts as a companion, but not “true” membership to the Bored Ape Yacht Club. The doggos were the first airdrop to Bored Ape holders. However, they have been eligible for some benefits, especially while combined with a BAYC, and may have additional utility in the future of the project roadmap.
