Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs: Every Official NFT by BAYC (so far)

Ever since Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) burst onto the NFT scene in late April 2021, they have skyrocketed to the top of the Ethereum NFT charts and into the public eye. Behind only CryptoPunks, they are the second-highest selling Ethereum NFT of all-time. But beyond the original 10,000 Bored Ape collection, there are many more BAYC NFTs that have been officially released by the BAYC team.
Many say that Bored Ape Yacht Club set the blueprint for creating a profile picture NFT lifestyle brand, and it has rewarded its collectors well along the way. The collection has spawned many other NFTs within the BAYC ecosystem, but it may surprise you that many are not too well-known.
These officially-released BAYC NFTs may be diamonds in the rough, as some are at a much more affordable entry point than the current 125 Ethereum Bored Ape floor (~$385,000).
Not financial advice, but here is the rundown of “official” BAYC NFT collections, how to buy, and how much they cost.
Note: For the purposes of this article, “official” means that the NFT was originally distributed by Bored Ape Yacht Club themselves.
Bored Ape Yacht Club
The original collection of 10,000 Bored Apes went on sale in April 23, 2021, and sold out on the night of April 30. They act as the primary membership to the Bored Ape Yacht Club ecosystem.
The Bored Ape Yacht Club website states that it is: “A limited NFT collection where the token itself doubles as your membership to a swamp club for apes. Each Bored Ape is unique and programmatically generated from over 170 possible traits, including expression, headwear, clothing, and more. All apes are dope, but some are rarer than others.”

Mutant Ape Yacht Club
Bored Ape Yacht Club broke the internet when they announced the mutant mint date in August 2021. The randomly airdropped serums to Bored Ape holders turn Bored Apes into an M1, M2, or M3 mutant version.
The other 10,000 Mutant Apes were sold in a public dutch auction. The Mutants use existing traits of apes and mutate them for a new, edgier look. MAYC has become the “second tier” to the BAYC, and has since had its own merch drops and rewards. The total supply is 20,000, but only ~8,600 serums have been used.

Current Floor: M1: 32.2 Ethereum
Bored Ape Chemistry Club
These are the serums that get burned when you apply them to a Bored Ape to get a Mutant Ape. They were airdropped to Bored Ape holders in August 2021.
At the time of this post, there are only 870 M1 serums left, 550 M2 serums left, and 2 M3 serums left. They command a significant price premium because the remaining supply is so low, and these are the only Bored Ape mutations that will ever exist.
In January 2022, an ultra-rare M3 Mega Mutant serum sold for 1,542 Ethereum — $5.8 million, making it one of the largest NFT PFP sales of all-time.

Bored Ape Kennel Club
On June 18, 2021, the Bored Ape Kennel Club collection was announced. They were available to claim within a limited time window for anyone who owned a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT. Around 9,600 were claimed, meaning around 400 dogs are gone forever and will never be minted. Poor pups.
BAKC acts as a companion, but not “true” membership to the Bored Ape Yacht Club. The doggos were the first airdrop to Bored Ape holders. However, they have been eligible for some benefits, especially while combined with a BAYC, and may have additional utility in the future of the project roadmap.

Round21 BAYC Basketball
In July 2021, every Bored Ape Kennel Club holder was airdropped a basketball NFT with web3 sports company round21. It also enabled you to order a physical BAYC round21 basketball. The total supply is 4,500.
The best part? The description of the NFT reads: “hold onto the NFT to gain access to a second future sports item from BAYC and round21.”

BAYC Decentraland Hoodie
In June 2021, BAYC airdropped these hoodies to wallets that held a BAYC at the time. There are 2,437 hoodies that exist, and only 30 are currently for sale (including listings on Decentraland Marketplace).

BAYC Riverboat Decentraland Wearables
In August, BAYC held an event in Decentraland on a Riverboat Casino, where members could play poker. The top 100 winners in the casino that evening won a Decentraland Captain’s Hat Wearable. The #1 winner won a 1-of-1 Skull King Crown Wearable.

Jimmy’s Mutant Army Mecha Suit Decentraland Wearables
The BAYC digital Treasure Hunt in September 2021 was an epic quest for holders to solve a very complex puzzle. The grand prize for the winning team was 10 Ethereum, a Bored Ape, a Bored Ape Kennel Club dog, an M2 serum and a special surprise.
But there were also prizes for other participants. Those who discovered this crate and solved the bonus riddle also were airdropped 1 of 4 Decentraland wearables, each with 1,000 total supply (4,000 between all of them combined).
When all four wearables come together, they make up a Jimmy’s Mutant Army (JMA) Mecha Suit. You can equip your Decentraland avatar with some or all of the pieces of the suit, and walk around in the metaverse as a member of Jimmy’s Mutant Army.

The BAYC POAPs
POAPs stand for Proof of Attendance Protocol — they act as digital badges that you earn for attending digital and IRL events. Bored Ape Yacht Club has had several of these so far.
They are on the xDai network, but you can transfer them out to your main Ethereum wallet (for gas fees) if you so choose. However, most people do not sell these, and just keep them as mementos and collectibles.
There is always the possibility that POAPs may have future utility, and that holders could be rewarded. However, so far, this hasn’t been the case for BAYC.
BAYC Riverboat Launch in Decentraland
On August 6, 2021, the BAYC Riverboat Casino launched in Decentraland. There was a POAP available for people to claim in a machine on the virtual boat.
ApeFest 2021
The first ever ApeFest took place at NFT NYC 2021. POAPs were available for those attending the event, which took place over several days.
Mutant Ape’s Demise
If you beat the Mutant Ape game in August 2021, a POAP was available to claim. Some of these are available to buy on OpenSea.
Adidas Originals Into the Metaverse: BAYC Collab
Although this doesn’t technically fall into the “official” category we’ve defined since it’s an NFT by Adidas, BAYC is an official and very visible partner in this collaboration. They also collaborated with gmoney and Pixel Vault (Punks Comic) on this NFT.
Adidas has hinted that this NFT will be burned for physical product redemption in the near future. There are 30,000 NFTs in this collection.

Bonus Collection: 10KTF BAYC Collab
Just like the Adidas NFT, 10KTF isn’t an official BAYC distributed NFT. However, there have recently been rumors of 10KTF links to Otherside, which is the Yuga Labs upcoming metaverse. Those rumors are that Genesis 10KTF NFTs may help you gain an edge in the Otherside land sale, but these have not been confirmed.
This project already has connections to Cool Cats, BAYC, MAYC, Forgotten Runes Wizards Cult, and other top projects, where you can turn your NFT into digital backpacks, high tops, hoodies and more.

TL;DR — The Official BAYC NFTs
Bored Ape Yacht Club is one of the most expensive Ethereum NFTs out there, and Mutant Ape Yacht Club is also out of reach for most. The good news is, more affordable options still exist for exposure to NFTs affiliated with the iconic project.
Rewards that have been dropped to holders and contest winners are widely available for sale, and have come directly from the BAYC team. Many are looking forward to the future of Yuga Labs, ApeCoin, and BAYC, and these NFTs are opportunities to have a small part in that.
